One of the most important habit you can have as a Muslim is to read the Quran everyday, preferably after Fajr.
It is mentioned in the Quran:
أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِدُلُوكِ ٱلشَّمۡسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡفَجۡرِۖ إِنَّ قُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ كَانَ مَشۡهُودࣰا﴿ ٧٨ ﴾
Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of night, and (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn is ever witnessed.
- Translation by Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
Al-Isrāʾ, Ayah 78
Step1
Pick a minimum number of verses you can read easily at any given time. This should be easy to read even when you are tired after a long day.
Pro Tip: If you are starting, choose 1 only.
Step 2
Start reading the same number of verses daily for at least 3 months.
Step 3
When you feel, you have developed this as a habit, add another verse. For example, if you were reading 3 verses a day, now read 4.
Step 3
Do this for a month and when you feel like adding another, go ahead!
Important Tip
Reading the Quran as a habit is different than reading it for a week or a month. It will take time but the benefits are long lasting. One of the best ways to know if reading it has become a part of you is when you skip it for a day you feel empty inside.
Try it and you will know!
