The love of the Sahaba for Allah and His messenger was immense. The teachings of the Quran had seeped so deep in to their hearts that they did everything according to it. The fear of Allah and the Day of Jugdement in the hearts of the Sahaba has been narrated by Abdullah bin Nadhr.
One day while Anas (Radiyallaho anho) was alive, it became very dark during the day time. I went to him and said, “Did you ever see such a thing in the Prophet’s time?” He replaid,” I seek refuge in Allah! In those days if the breeze grew a little stronger than normal, we would hasten towards the masjid, fearing the approach of the Last Day!”
Sit back. Breathe. What is our reaction to a storm? “Let’s go outside, the weather is so good!”. We have forgotten the example once set by the Sahaba. Going to the masjid in a storm is no where near our minds, in fact, its the opposite! Let’s bring a change in ourselves, let’s not walk on a path that Satan walks on! Let’s remember Allah when their is a storm and ask for forgiveness!
