Recently, I came over a post of r/ex-muslims in which OP claimed to Muhammad added his words to the Quran. At the same time, I believe, users who commented on the post did not bother to open the links and cross check OP’s claims.
I have provided pictures and links to the post as well as the links OP uses to support his claim for easy access.

Claim put forth:
Muhammad
added his own words to the Quran.
Reasons of Refutation:
- Makes a conclusion based on one verse while ignoring the rest.
- Inaccurate second degree claim linking death of Muhammad to his aorta being cut.
- Incomplete and inaccurate translation of referenced Hadith from Sahih Bukhari 4428 leading to an illogical, inaccurate and wrong conclusion.
- Inaccurate statement: “Quran 69.46 says that if Muhammad had inserted any words into the Quran then Allah would have cut his aorta.”
Refutation
1. Verse taken out of context
It is of utmost importance that we should take the verses in their context. Although, there are some verses that can be taken individually, this is not the case for most of the verses.
The following are the verses;
“Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the recitation of a noble Messenger.”
It is not the prose of a poet ˹as you claim˺, ˹yet˺ you hardly have any faith.
Nor is it the mumbling of a fortune-teller, ˹yet˺ you are hardly mindful.
˹It is˺ a revelation from the Lord of all worlds.
Hence, it is already established before the next verses that what the Prophet recited was a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. In the earlier verses Allah establishes and uses taqid/certainty that what is in the Quran is not a word of a poet or a fortune teller. Lets move to the next verses.
Had the Messenger made up something in Our Name,
We would have certainly seized him by his right hand,
then severed his aorta,
In these verses Allah says IF Muhammad had added his own words, we would have seized by his right hand and severed his aorta. Given that Allah says IF he did and given the previous verses, he didnt add his own words.
From these verses we come to a second conclusion, ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ, the last verse. The word قطع means to completely cut off. If Allah had done so, the Messenger of Allah would have suddenly died as the blood could not reach the body and the brain. This brings me to the second ROR, how did the Prophet of Allah actually die?
2. Inaccurate second degree claim linking death of Muhammad to his aorta being cut.
OP makes a completely irrational claim. After the final pilgrimage the Prophet started to experience headache and fever. This illness increased and became severe over a course of 13 days.
Even if we look at the symptoms of a torn aorta(Note: not a completely cut of aorta, a tear in the inner linings of the aorta), the two above meantioned; headache and fever, are not a symptom of it. Let alone aorta being cut off.
If his aorta was cut off, he would have died suddenly and not slowly since the aorta takes blood to all parts of the body. Read how the Prophet of Allah died in detail.
Death of The Messenger of Allah
2. Incomplete and inaccurate translation of referenced Hadith from Sahih Bukhari 4428 leading to an illogical, inaccurate and wrong conclusion.
The following is the translation given by the user of the Hadith in Sahih Bukhari 4428.
“In a hadith, when Muhammad was dying he told Aisha that it felt like his aorta was being cut.”
This is an incomplete translation as OP read half and completely turned a blind side to the other.
A complete translation of the hadith
The Prophet (ﷺ) in his ailment in which he died, used to say, “O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison.“
He asked that Al-Hasan and Al-Husain be brought to him. He kissed them and recommended that they be looked after. He asked to see his wives. They were brought to him. He preached them and told them to remember Allâh. Pain grew so much severe that the trace of poison he had at Khaibar came to light. It was so sore that he said to ‘Aishah: “I still feel the painful effect of that food I tasted at Khaibar. I feel as if death is approaching.” [ibid 2/637] He ordered the people to perform the prayers and be attentive to slaves. He repeated it several times. [ibid 2/637]
This brings us to the attempted assassination of Muhammad (SAW) during the Battle of Khyber in 628 when Zanaib ibn Harith, a Jewish woman, poisoned the food of the Prophet. However, the actual death of the Messenger of Allah took place 4 years later in 632.
How can traces of poison completely severe/cut someone’s aorta? This is impossible.
In the mentioned hadith, the Messenger of Allah says he ‘felt’ as if his aorta is being cut, giving a rhetoric description (Balagha). If his aorta was severed as mentioned in the Quran, medically he would have died suddenly but according to the historical accounts his health deteriorated over a course of 113 or 14 days.

Following is the link user mentioned and a screen shot of the reference. The user only mentioned half of the Hadith.

3. Inaccurate statement: “Quran 69.46 says that if Muhammad had inserted any words into the Quran then Allah would have cut his aorta.”
Verse 46 does not mention all this. The verse only mentions:
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ
“then severed his aorta,” (69:46)
What the OP says has been mentioned from verse 40 to 46 and not just 46.
